Elastic systems

Reducing vibrations, noise and stray current is one of the main challenges in track construction. Vibration and stray current can damage the surrounding infrastructure, and the resulting noise can be particularly disturbing for neighbouring residents. The ever-increasing demands on the systems require innovative solutions.

Our elastic systems, which are specifically tailored to the requirements of each project, offer effective solutions to these challenges. The systems separate the track from the surrounding superstructure and significantly reduce the vibrations caused by tram traffic. The insulations also minimise the dissipation of stray current, which extends the service life of the entire infrastructure. Our expertise and our product range include various systems that are customised to local conditions and customer requirements.

Our product range includes the following systems:

System RCS® (Rail Comfort System)

in co-operation with the company SEALABLE

The SEALABLE RCS® (Rail Comfort System) offers an innovative solution for elastic rail bedding in urban infrastructures. Developed to meet the challenges of modern rail transport, the RCS® significantly reduces shocks and vibrations caused by trams and protects surrounding structures from structure-borne noise.

Features and benefits:

  • Effective vibration damping: The RCS® minimises vibrations and structure-borne noise, resulting in an improved quality of life for residents and less damage to buildings.
  • Reduction of stray current: High-quality insulation materials minimise the dissipation of stray current, which significantly reduces the risk of corrosion for metallic structures.
  • Flexibility and adaptability: The system is suitable for various rail profiles and surfaces, including asphalt, paved, concrete and grass tracks.
  • Quick and easy installation: Thanks to the modular design and the possibility of pre-assembly, the system can be installed quickly and regardless of weather conditions, which significantly reduces the blocking times.
  • Durability and ease of maintenance: The RCS® is characterised by a long service life and low maintenance requirements. Simple rail replacement is possible without the need for complex construction work.

DELTA-Lager® system

in co-operation with the company ORTEC

Thanks to its advanced design, the DELTA-Lager® system offers a wide range of applications and represents an optimum solution for damping shocks and vibrations in rail transport.

Features and functions:

The DELTA-Lager® system is characterised by its flexible adaptability and high performance. The elastomer profiles and brackets are designed so that a vertical deflection of up to 10 mm can be achieved, while the horizontal head deflection remains below 2 mm. This ensures stable and reliable mounting of the rails, which fulfils all the necessary criteria such as push-through resistance and electrical insulation.

Versatile application possibilities:

  •  Local and long-distance transport: The DELTA-Lager® system can be designed for all local and long-distance transport loads, making it a flexible solution for various transport scenarios.
  • Retrofittability: The individual parts of the system are compatible with the W-fastenings commonly used in Germany and are therefore ideal for retrofitting sleeper tracks.
  • Slab track and wooden sleepers: If steel base plates are used, the system can also be used on wooden sleepers or in the "slab track".

Advantages at a glance:

  • Stray current insulation in accordance with EN 50122-2: fulfils the highest safety standards.
  • Wear reduction: Reduces wear on the rail head and extends the service life of the rails.
  • Simple installation: Quick and easy to install.
  • Maintenance-free: Minimises maintenance work.
  • Long service life: Offers a durable solution for rail transport.
  • Easy rail replacement: Facilitates the replacement of rails.
  • Can be used as an open construction: Offers flexibility in construction.
  • 100% Recyclability of all materials: environmentally friendly and sustainable.

VIBREX® system

in co-operation with the company ORTEC

The highly elastic VIBREX® rail bearing system is the latest innovation in the field of rail damping systems as a further development of the tried and tested "ORTEC whisper rail®". The system enables continuous, highly elastic support and is available both as a head rail and as a grooved rail.

Features and benefits:

  • Stray current insulation in accordance with EN 50122-2: fulfils the highest safety standards.
  • Scatter and de-icing salt resistant materials: Suitable for a wide range of environmental conditions.
  • Wear-reducing effect: The high elasticity reduces wear on the rails.
  • Flexible application possibilities: Suitable for both open and closed construction.
  • Easy maintenance: Any rail replacement can be carried out quickly during breaks in operation.
  • Simpler repair work: If a rail breaks, only the area around a maximum of two brackets and enclosures needs to be opened.
  • 100 % Recyclability of all materials: environmentally friendly and sustainable.
  • Customisable groove widths: The VIBREX® system can be customised with groove widths from 36 to 60.5 mm.

Cologne Egg"® system

in co-operation with the company ORTEC

The "Cologne Egg" is an innovative solution for noise reduction and vibration damping. The system ensures that trains glide over the tracks on quieter tracks without causing noise and vibrations in the surrounding area.

How does the system work?

The "Cologne Egg" consists of a special construction with metal parts that are connected by heavy-duty rubber elements. This construction is permanently installed between the railway tracks and the ground. The rubber connections effectively absorb the passing train vibrations and at the same time dampen the sound. This minimises the transmission of disturbing noises and vibrations to the surrounding area.

Advantages of the system:

  • Effective shock and vibration damping
  • Protection against age-related track widening
  • Stray current insulation according to EN 50122-2
  • Flexible rail fastening options
  •  Customisable system rigidity for ballasted and ballastless tracks
  • Suitable for axle loads up to 16 tonnes
  • Resistant to road salt and de-icing salt
  • Durability thanks to high-quality material selection
  • 100% Recyclability of all materials
